When his group tells us that “they are from the government and are here to help us” they really mean it!

Invite a customer to this very informative program!
U.S. Goods and Service Exports have more than doubled between 1996 and July 2007. January through July 2007 exports are up 11.4% compared to the same period in 2006. 42% of U.S. exports in 2005 went to Free Trade Areas, such as Canada, Mexico, Singapore, Chile, and Australia. There is no better time than NOW to get in the game!
The U.S. Commercial Service is part of the International Trade Administration and the lead federal government agency for promoting U.S. exports. There are 100 U.S. Commercial Service offices in the U.S., also known as U.S. Export Assistance Centers and over 150 overseas U.S. Commercial Service offices.
Greg Sizemore is the senior representative of the U.S. Commercial Service in North Carolina and leads a team of four Trade Specialists in their Morehead Street office.
Originally from Winston-Salem, Greg served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the fall of the Berlin wall. He earned his undergraduate degree in International Business from UNC-Charlotte.
After a short assignment to the Department of Commerce's Import Administration in Washington, D.C., Greg began his export promotion career in 1994 in the Greensboro U.S. Export Assistance Center. Greg has an MBA from Wake Forest and was the Director of the Northern Virginia U.S. Export Assistance Center in Arlington, Virginia from 2001 until 2003.

Highlights Of Our October Program
Patricia Fitzpatrick of our Customs and Border Protection spoke to us on Homeland Security where the challenges of incoming commercial shipments to homeland security are immense.
We learned about C-TPAT, a voluntary government-business initiative, applying to all commercial shipments, where a business takes specific steps to secure its cargo against terrorism, and Customs will give it the fast lane through the border.
